SustainUS is Hiring!

 We are excited to post the job description for the first SustainUS Climate Change Program Coordinator.  Please tell any qualified candidates you know about this position and forward our call for applicants to all relevant listservs -- we're looking to hire one of the best and brightest this month!

Over the past seven years, SustainUS has steadily grown its resources, and volunteer base while working efficiently on a lean budget to take on increasingly ambitious projects. Today we are pleased to announce that we have secured funding in order to hire a staff person to focus on climate-related programming.  We believe that bringing a SustainUS staffer onboard will significantly amplify the capacity of the organization around the Power Vote campaign and the international climate negotiations.  Read on to find the full job description.

SustainUS Earns EcoSoc Consultative Status

SustainUS will now be recognized as an accredited organization with technical expertise at the Commision for Social Development and Comission on Sustainable Development.

The SustainUS team in Bonn hosted a side event to discuss the Bali Action Plan! See below for details: 

Beyond Bali: adaptation, mitigation, technology absorption

SustainUS responds to the Bali Action Plan by addressing,

(1) approaches to identify priorities and support community adaptation needs;
(2) low carbon technologies for rural development; and
(3) technology transfer and absorption under various mechanisms.

Bali Delegate wins global warming competition

Photo: Richard Graves Bali Delegate Richard Graves has won one of three $10,000 prizes in the Cliff Mojo/Focus the Nation Project Slingshot competition! The competition awarded grants to young people implementing hands-on projects to tackle global warming. Richard's Fired Up Youth Action TV will use the funds to produce youth-developed news segments on issues ranging from politics to pop culture, all from the perspective of their relation to global warming and the restructuring of our economy.
